Routefusion CEO and co-founder, Colton, posted something on his LinkedIn (if you don’t follow him–go ahead, he is never at a loss for words) this week that inspired me to write this blog post. He shared some great tips on things to do in Austin for those coming to town for Fintech Devcon. Austin is Routefusion's home, so get ready to read about why we love living and working here!
At Routefusion, we're at the forefront of the ever-evolving FX and fintech industries, constantly innovating and adapting to meet the unique needs of each country and currency. Our team is passionate about providing top-notch solutions for our clients in the U.S., E.U., and LATAM, through our extensive partner network.
Each customer has their own dedicated Slack channel where they can reach out to the CS team directly in real-time. Customers can also speak with our C-suite over Slack too--who else offers that?!
Here’s what our Customer Success Managers, Sadie and Tom, have to say about working here and living in Austin (and I promise this is not an ad for the delicious restaurant, Suerte).
If you're ever in town, stop by the Routefusion office – we'd love to host you and your team!
Meet Sadie! She's been with Routefusion since the very beginning, earning her the title of our OG CSM. A true Texan, Sadie has called Austin home since she graduated from Texas Tech in 2019. You'll often spot Sadie and her standard poodle, Frankie, enjoying the day at Zilker Park or taking a refreshing late-night dip at Barton Springs.
Tom has been rocking it at Routefusion for two years now, having joined us after his stint at Wyre (RIP). He lives in Colorado with his wife, Natalie, but originally hails from Chicago. We try to lure him to Austin whenever we can! When he's not busy helping our awesome customers, you'll find Tom cruising on his motorcycle.
Working at Routefusion:
Sadie: We've got such a fun and lively vibe here at Routefusion. We're always joking around, which makes working together a blast and really strengthens our teamwork. The office is also dog friendly! I bring Frankie, every day. She should be the RF mascot. You can also catch the team at Lolo for happy hour since it's so close to the office (great perk!).
Tom: The best part about Routefusion is how much we genuinely care about our customers. We’re all about teaming up to find solutions using our awesome partner network.
411 on Fintech:
Sadie: The payments world is always changing, with new products popping up all the time. FX wise, it’s interesting because every country and currency has different rules and regs, so there's never a one-size-fits-all answer to payments. Our customers are so unique, I love getting to know them. I recently visited our client, Clara, in Chicago, which was great and got to learn more about their business and what we can do for them.
Tom: Fintechs are constantly evolving, so there’s always something new going on. Each provider has its pros and cons, making transfers more complicated than they seem. Thankfully, Routefusion's API helps us sort it all out for our customers. Every day in this industry is different, really.
Best Things About Austin:
Sadie: Austin is such a lively city with endless things to do. ACL is a blast in the fall, but you can also catch live music on a random Tuesday. We have endless options for restaurants too. Oh, and you have to try the Suadero Tacos at Suerte – they’re basic but bomb af!
Tom: I live in Colorado, but when I come to town for work I love catching amazing live bands at The White Horse, my favorite honky-tonk bar. Flight lands at 10 PM?? I’ll be at The White Horse by 11. Also, you have to eat at Suerte! I've never had a bad meal in Austin.
We give all our customers a dedicated Slack channel for real-time support, including U.S. holiday coverage and after-hours emergencies. No robotic canned responses or out-of-office messages from us.
